What do you like most about the Nonprofit Sector? The nonprofit sector is a sea of opportunity. It is within this sector I feel I truly understood the value and positive impact that comes with having a clear mission and a community of people determined to make this mission a reality.
What do you like to do in your spare time? Discover new music, attend festivals, try new brunch places, and binge watch 90s sitcoms. Living Single will forever be my favorite!
How would you describe your job to a child? I am a cheerleader and a coach for the best team of young MVPs there is. It is the young people I see everyday that makes my job so fun and valuable. On top of that, I get to put on awesome events, eat yummy food from time to time, laugh a lot, and host tons of meetings to prove what I already know. Whis is that youth have an amazing perspective on life and are awesome.
What drew you to the Leadership Institute? I am at a moment in my professional career where I am seeking mentorship and to be surrounded by positive energy and challenging perspectives. As a young professional, the leadership institute seemed like a great opportunity to learn more about the non-profit sector while also learning more about my own identity and what I want my next steps in my professional career to look like.
Personal Mantra: Seize the moment. The only difference between a waste of time and a moment of glory is what you choose to call it.
