What do you like most about working in the nonprofit sector? The people and their passion for their work.
Additional info you would like to highlight: In addition to my work with LYNX, I teach piano, voice, guitar, and violin, and I perform from time to time as well.
What do you like most about YNPN? I love connecting with and learning from all of the wonderful members of our cohort. It's exciting to be challenged to think in new ways, and it's inspiring to be surrounded by a group of people who care so deeply about their work and the people they serve.
What are your hopes for our industry? I hope we can find a path toward sustainable work/life balance and equitable compensation. Fair compensation for work performed is one of the most important hurdles in building a more equitable and diverse industry. I think this is especially true in classical music. There are very few options, particularly for those pursuing performance careers, that don't require a significant additional source of income.
What do you like to do in your spare time? Spare time is at more of a premium lately with an almost-two-year-old at home, but in general: I love running! And eating! My family's pandemic hobby has been finding the best restaurants for delivery and outdoor seating. I'm also currently trying to learn to read Middle Egyptian hieroglyphics.
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself. I always wear two different color socks! They're always matching in some way, but they're never the same.
