Online Course Producer

Job Title: Online Course Producer

Organization: The National Democratic Training Committee

Job Description

NDTC is putting the tools needed to start, run and win campaigns in the hands of Democratic candidates up and down the ballot. NDTC provides free training to Democratic candidates, both in-person in their states and through our free, online campaign school.

We’re seeking a producer to drive the content development, production and upkeep of 10 video-lecture based online courses per year. In this role, you’ll be responsible for script writing, hiring and managing production crews, and overseeing post-production, as well as thinking strategically about our course offerings in light of user feedback.

Core Responsibilities:

Write and develop scripts for video lectures and other content for online courses, in collaboration with subject matter experts.

Produce video lectures, including scouting venues, coordinating with a video crew, and managing the post-production video editor.

Create interactive course materials to engage our learners with the training content (e.g., worksheets, quizzes, discussion prompts).

Coordinate with various vendors, volunteers and other team members to take graphics, video content, and other course elements from concept to final products.

Participate in the needs assessment, design and development of curriculum.

Review and test new and revised curriculum offerings from other team members, providing feedback and suggestions for improvement; contribute to new curriculum or program ideas.

Collaborate with other members of our team to ensure a cohesive learning experience for NDTC learners and complementary content with our other offerings.

Respond to learner questions, as needed.

Required experience and skills:

Demonstrable experience producing online learning content for adult learners.

Excellent organizational skills; project management experience a plus.

Strong writing skills—you can distill complicated concepts down to concise, logical steps.

4-6 years of professional experience.

Good attention to detail—you should be able to easily spot a random change in font or a missing period in a worksheet.

A good sense of humor and work well in a collaborative, team environment (we have a shared office space so there’s a lot of together-ness).

Flexibility for some weekend travel (less than 15%) to assist with NDTC’s in-person trainings.

You must consider yourself a Democrat.
