Introducing the 2015 Leadership Institute

The Cohort
Introducing YNPN Chicago’s 2015 Leadership Institute participants! This year’s cohort is made up of a diverse group of mid-career nonprofit professionals. They represent agencies that focus on the following: philanthropy, nonprofit development, higher learning, art, education, youth development, economic disparity, building volunteerism, and transportation advocacy. The group is full of talented individuals who we are confident will leave their mark in the nonprofit sector.

Our fifth cohort of emerging leaders will engage in a ten-month, intensive, professional development opportunity. In order to create a powerful and catalyzing experience for our Cohort, this year’s curriculum combines self-reflection, skill-building, and guest lectures from nonprofit leaders with applied learning through integrating case studies and a capstone project. Further, participants are matched with mentors that have similar professional interests who will provide one-on-one guidance and support throughout the program. Click here to learn more about our 15 participants.

The Mentors
We are grateful to the 15 philanthropic and nonprofit leaders who have volunteered their time and expertise to serve as mentors for our cohort. This group includes doctors, researchers, consultants, finance and development experts, policy professionals, and community activists. Several of our mentors are founding executive directors and have experience starting a nonprofit. Combined, our mentors have served on over 50 executive boards and advisory committees. To see the biographies of this year’s mentors, click here.

The Facilitators
We are thrilled to have Dr. Marcia Lipetz, a Senior Consultant at Millenia Consulting and Dan Gould the Senior Associate Director for Alumni Career and Affinity Programs at the University of Chicago, serve as our facilitators. They bring unique expertise in a wide range of nonprofit issues including organizational leadership, fundraising, board relations, and higher learning. Their combined experience in the field, and as facilitators, will set the tone for a highly engaging learning environment.
