Full Time

8:30 am to 5:30 pm

The Grants Manager works closely with the Gary Comer Youth Center’s leadership to ensure all organizational funding agreements are managed effectively in compliance with all regulations, grant related accounting requirements, and provides management with accurate and timely reporting. Responsibilities include managing and coordinating a complex grant portfolio. This position manages grant processes from start to finish, including the support of proposal development, reporting and compliance and voucher management, and preparing close-out paperwork.

Manage grants by: tracking grants; developing internal reporting systems; writing reports; maintaining excellent historical records; working with staff to ensure each project or program is meeting proposal conditions and expectations
Maintains a working knowledge of laws, regulations, policy, and other requirements that affect grants management
Responsible for coordinating and monitoring reports and compliance requirements for all grants and contracts received from city, state, & federal government agencies, private, and foundation grants
Work closely with Controller and Finance team to complete grant budget process and budget vs actual compliance analysis and reporting
Authorize all reimbursement requests, and ensures that payments are in compliance with established administrative and financial policies
Communicate and train program staff and management in completing their monitoring and evaluation
Serves as the lead coordinator for planning, implementing and evaluating grant proposals and provides guidance and audit support on agreements.
Assist Director of Advancement and Grant Writer with writing of all proposals, budgets, reports, and other ancillary materials
Develop and maintain grant compliance tracking calendar for all current grants
Reviews coding of expenses against restricted grants to ensure appropriate recording in general ledger
Develop grant administration policies and procedures in accordance with state, local, and federal regulations
Prepares monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reports for funders
Ongoing monitoring of grant budgets, expenditures, and program goals to ensure targets are met
Assist in all specific grant, annual financial, and compliance audits
Work collaboratively in a team setting serving the needs of youth
Support the mission of GCYC and serve as a role model for youth and community
Abide by the employee handbook and established GCYC policies and procedures
Take on other duties as needed and assigned.

Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree a plus
Three to five years of grant administration experience preferred, with knowledge of grants and Non-Profit grant administration systems, processes and budgeting
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Proficient in use of computer technology primarily Microsoft Excel and Office Suite, Social Solutions, Salesforce, ADP, and Financial Edge NXT
Solid understanding of GAAP, grants and finance management and related compliance requirements, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Majority of work is conducted in an office setting with general office equipment. Due to the nature of GCYC all positions, travel between buildings on campus maybe required with exposure to outdoor elements.

Ability to provide basic financial oversight for funds related to grant projects
Ability to develop budgets, budget narratives, and accountability tools
Strong analytical skills and ability to problem solve
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate financial information to non-financial staff
Ability to analyze/compile technical and statistical information and prepare reports and correspondence
Ability to analyze and interpret grant contracts and agreements
Ability to effectively prioritize multiple responsibilities
